Abstract
The euthanasia, also known as the right, to d¡e with dignity, has not only been regulated and recognized as a right by ihe Spanish Organic Law 3/2021 , but also added to the catalogue of services provided by this country's public health system. The previously mentioned law recognizes the right of every individual to request and receive help to put an end to his or her own life, provided that certain requirements are met. lt also establishes that each of the different autonomous regions in which the country is divided must create its own . Guarantee and Evaluation Commission, in which social workers could participate, amongst all other professionals, if the region concerned establishes so. This article reflects on the subject and raises issues related to the role of social work
