In 1614 Heinrich Doergangk published the Institutiones in linguam hispanicam, the first Spanish grammar specifically addressed to Germans. It is a grammar that closely follows the Institutiones in lingvam gallicam (1604) and Institutiones in lingvam italicam (1604) by the same author. Doergangk pays great attention to the verb, which is covered in different chapters. The organization of the Spanish verb paradigms conforms to what is established in the French and Italian grammars, but the author in the Spanish grammar has to complete these paradigms to accommodate verb forms unusuals in French and Italian. Doergangk proposes a dynamic morphology in which he derives the verb forms from oth-ers. Finally, in the syntax, he presents the tenses of the verb according to the particles with which they are combined.
