Abstract

The present paper intends to publicize the tenuta lawsuit that the Marquis of laEliseda, as the main protagonist, promoted in order to gain control of the States of Aguilar and Castañeda. In this way, it has been possible to approach not only a succession process between the great titled nobles of the Crown of Castile, but also the knowledge and understanding of aspects such as the processes of grouping titles, the existing family ties between different Houses, the judicial strategies developed and the arguments, whether based on law or on the importance of lineage, carried out by the privileged Castilian elites to achieve their objectives of pre-eminence.
