The paper studies the historical perspective of evaluation contribution to curriculum development in The United Kingdom and The United States, emphasy sinf the lack of tradition in Spain in this kind of work. The evaluation contribution is based in the model of process/product development which whose later on replaced por the process model whide alloew to R. Stacke and B. MacDonald to formulate the patterns of evaluation responsive and holistic respective ly. The paper point out some recommendations about phases and the nature of the contribution based in the experience develops in these countries which could be useful in our converty
