Resumen

The use of arm weight is a fundamental resource in piano technique, and therefore one of the most important aspects to be addressed in piano teaching. This research first delves into the motor and cognitive characteristics of the students, as well as the origin and evolution of the concept of weight up to the present day, in order to provide a historical and contextual perspective that can enrich the teaching-learning process. Secondly, the teaching practice of two renowned piano pedagogues is described and the way they approach this aspect with students who are beginning to study the piano is analyzed. Finally, the didactic proposal presented aims to synthesize all the above and to structure it in the context of the piano classroom.
