Doctor by the Universidad de Valladolid with the thesis Characterization of neural activity using complex network theory. Application to the identification of the altered neural substrates in schizophrenia 2018. Supervised by Dr. Roberto Hornero Sánchez, Dr. Jesús Poza Crespo.
Javier Gómez Pilar graduated with a degree in Telecommunications Engineering (2012) from the University of Valladolid, where he also obtained a Master's in Advanced Studies in Biomedical Engineering (2013) and a PhD (2018). He is currently a researcher in the Biomedical Engineering Group, associated with the Biomedical Research Networking Center in Bioengineering, Biomaterials, and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BBN). His research primarily focuses on the processing of biomedical signals from electroencephalograms using time-frequency analysis and complex network theory to assist in the diagnosis of various pathologies. He is currently involved in several studies focused on applying machine learning techniques to aid in the diagnosis of different diseases, as well as correlation networks for integrating large sets of heterogeneous data.
