Doctor by the Universidad de Valladolid with the thesis Desarrollo profesional del profesorado centrado en el uso de rutinas de diseño y puesta en marcha de actividades colaborativas con TIC en educación primaria 2012. Supervised by Dr. Iván M. Jorrín Abellán, Dr. Rocío Anguita Martínez.

She holds a position of Associate Professor since February/2018 at the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Valladolid. Her research as doctoral student (2008-2012) was focused on the integration of ICT to foster teacher professional development (PhD dissertation in 2012) and achieved the best thesis award from the University of Valladolid. Since 2007, and as member of the GSIC-EMIC interdisciplinary research group at UVa, her research interests are related to the field of Technology Enhanced Learning and include: Computer Supported Collaborative Learning, Learning Design, Teacher professional development, Learning analytics, Massive Open Online Courses and e-assessment. She currently teaches a course on advanced qualitative research methods in the Master of Interdisciplinary Research applied to Education at UVa. She has participated in 15 research projects (competitive funding calls), 5 European projects of the LifeLongLearning and the Erasmus+ programmes. 6 National projects (5 in Spanish R&D programmes), 4 Regional R&D programmes. She was the workpackage leader of the CARESS ERASMUS+ KA2-Cooperation and innovation for good practices. Skills Alliance Call (562634-EPP-1-2015-1-IT-EPPKA2-SSA) project, in charge of the evaluation tasks within the whole project. As quality indicators about her research experience, she has achieved the recognition of 2 six-year research period from the Spanish Government (also known as “sexenios”). She has co-authored 22 indexed research papers, out of which 8 are JCR-indexed papers (4 of them are indexed in the first quartile), while 5 were published in the last 5 years. She has also co-authored more than 30 papers in conference proceedings and book chapters. She has also participated in educational technology transfer activities by means of 3 research contracts with private companies and public institutions, as well as in the context of 4 competitive innovation projects. She was the scientific coordinator of the contract Qualitative Analysis of SELFIE impact project (JRC/SVQ/2021/MVP/0074) founded by the European Commission (Joint Research Centre) She has also co-supervised 3 PhD theses (1 with international mention). Recently she served as the co-editor of a special issue on co-design of Technology Enhanced Learning experiences in the Spanish Journal on Educational Technology (EDUTEC).
