Doctor by the Universidad de Valladolid with the thesis Analisis de señales biomedicas con fines diagnosticos mediante wavelets y metodos derivados de la teoria del caos 1998. Supervised by Dr. Alonso Alonso Alonso.

I hold a PhD in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Valladolid, for which I was awarded the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize. I am the founder and director of the Biomedical Engineering Group (GIB) and a Full Professor in the Department of Signal Theory and Communications at the University of Valladolid. Within the field of Biomedical Engineering, I have established several research lines over the past ten years in biomedical signal processing. My research activity is intensive and of recognized international quality within this specialty. I am a Fellow of the European Alliance of Medical and Biological Engineering and Science (EAMBES), a Senior Member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), and Vice President of the Spanish Society of Biomedical Engineering.
