University teachers who teach journalism in any formats or thematic specializations are expected to use new media protected by the digital development, to innovate in their teaching methodologies. The acquisition of generic skills by the future professional journalist is reflected on the educational blogs that publish the journalistic work of students and fulfill a didactic and scientific dissemination function. The launch of the blog ‘Vuélcate’, on May 30th 2017, serves as an illustrative example: https://vuelcate.blogs.uemc.es/ This is a selection of the best journalistic pieces, of all the students of the Degree in Journalism of the European University Miguel de Cervantes (UEMC). After being analyzed, both qualitatively and quantitatively, they have shown the generic competences attributed to this university degree.
