Abstract

This article explores the vision given by the Spanish press about the North American's military intervention in Panama during December 1989. From a concrete historical perspective and through content analysis, we describe the speeches from the most important Spanish newspapers: La Vanguardia, ABC and El País. Latin America has been present in the media content of the last decades of the twentieth century, often because of war. The treatment accorded to so controversial invasion, serves as a useful example to see if the positions of social actors in charge of forming opinion, they were honest about the events or if instead were more prone to other interests
