Abstract

With the increasingly restrictive regulations regarding polluting emissions from thermal engines and the alarming rise in the price of fuels derived from petroleum, many researchers work on developing alternative fuels. Nevertheless, it is known that there are still problems to be solved related to their use. Previous studies have shown that adding oxygenated fuels significantly reduces most polluting emissions. For this reason, the present work proposes to study fuels such as bioethanol and biodiesel and their mixtures with diesel. On the other hand, due to the global environmental problem arising from plastic waste accumulation and growing generation, previous researchers have proposed mitigating this problem by performing a pyrolysis process. However, based on the literature, this process still requires additional research to adequately adjust the parameters of the pyrolysis process to each of the raw materials used.
