Abstract

Science dissemination aims to bring science closer to the non-specialist general public and is understood as any dissemination activity that benefits, educates, and enriches society. Disseminate science promotes curiosity, helps to understand the reality in which we live, and offers skills so that citizens can build their own opinion and participate in the issues associated with the science advance. Given its importance today, it is worth asking whether we really know how to convey science effectively. This article provides an answer to this question by highlighting several key aspects that should be considered when communicating science in an informative way and, at the same time, it tackles some reflections and advice correlated. Moreover, given the diversity and multitude of communication formats available, examples of platforms and media where this type of knowledge transfer activities can be carried out are given.
