Abstract

This research is part of the study of school sports in France as a means of promoting values, mainly among teenagers aged from 11 to 15 years old. The interest is focused on the analysis of educational action programs from the youngest age. The aim of these programs is to facilitate the transmission of values through the practice of sports. Our study focuses on the good educational practices and communication of Sports Associations (AS) It deals with the national program of school sports in French secondary education. The case study is Robert Desnos Junior High, a school classified as REP+ (Réseau d’Education Prioritaire - Priority Education Network). The school is located in the city of Orly, in the Île-de-France region. This area is designated as a « Zone d’Education Prioritaire » (ZEP) - "zones of educational priority". This zone groups together families whose social and economic conditions constitute a risk factor in the school career of minors. This has an impact on their professional future. The study is developed under the paradigm of communication for social change within the framework of a popular educational process. The latter was fuelled by the Brazilian educator Paulo Freire, who suggests the empowerment of learners as a resource for individual and social transformation. This model is applied in participatory action research and is based on the participatory method. The techniques used in the data collection process are: interviews, non-participant observation, and workshop meetings. A bibliographic-documentary review was carried out simultaneously. Thus, the participation and initiative of the socio-economically vulnerable teenage population is obtained in the design of a communication campaign that promotes values in which respect is an essential notion. The latter was implemented around the practice of sports within the AS of the Robert Desnos Junior High through the use of TRIC, such as Instagram.
