I am chemistry Chemistry graduate with a Master's degree in Supramolecular Chemistry from the University of Salamanca, where I was recognized with the Extraordinary Master's Award. During my studies I have specialised in the area of analytical chemistry, in which I did my Bachelor's and Master's Degree Final Project and later, a research stage in the OLFATOUSAL group and a teaching stage working as an adjunt professor for a few years in the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Nutrition and Bromatology of that university followed by a research contract in the Analytical Spectroscopy and Sensors Group (GEAS) of the University of Zaragoza. My research during this time has followed two lines: On the one hand, I specialised in the development of rapid analytical methods (chromatographic and non-chromatographic) based on mass spectrometry, with special interest in miniaturised extraction techniques (MEPS, µ-SPE...) and pattern recognition techniques for the determination of emerging contaminants and molecules of biological interest in different types of matrices. In this sense, I have several articles in high impact journals, 1 as first author and 2 as co-author. On the other hand, I have worked on the development of methodologies combining immunoassay, nanoparticle labelling and single particle-ICP-MS for the determination of bacterias and microplastics in wastewater. I am a nature lover and I am always willing to learn new things, so I have decided to apply my knowledge to environmental analysis with the completion of a PhD on the status of in-use and emerging contaminants in arctic ecosystems.
